Are there benefits to getting my permit early?
Yes – you don’t have to think about it later. You are setting yourself up for summer NOW!
What’s the cost?
$100 for residents (Barnstable). $250 non-residents. Additional fees for if you have an overnight camper.
What questions will they ask me in the portal?
You will need to know the make and model of your vehicle and you will need to upload a photo of your registration and your license.
If your car is a lease, you will need the lease agreement as well.
What vehicles can drive out?
Both four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are allowed to go day tripping until 10pm. Then you need to get off.
Motor homes are allowed overnight with an additional permit. 🚐

What are the ORV "Seasons"??
May 1st - October 31st is "in season." November 1st - April 30th is considered "off season."
What's the difference?
⏰ Curfews - 8am-10pm in season. 8am-4pm off season.
🔥 Campfires - only allowed in season
Can I go drive on the beach now?
YES! It may be cold, but it is so bleeping beautiful out on the beach. Treat your honey to a picnic 🧺 or simply go take a drive. You just need to be off by 4:00pm.
